Leatrice Seamons Buttars, age 92, died in Hyde Park, UT on Thursday, November 22, 2018. Leatrice was born on May 3, 1926, in Preston, Idaho; the daughter of Wilford Royce & Effie Mono Paton Seamons. She attended Elementary School, Junior High, and graduated from Preston High School in 1944. She then graduated from LDS Business College and attended USAC, now USU. She married Chester J. Buttars on February 8, 1947. They were later sealed in the Logan Temple. Five children were born… Read More » to them. They lived in Cornish, UT and farmed there and in Weston, ID for 58 years. In 2005 they retired and moved to Logan. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and taught Primary, Jr. Sunday School, served as Stake Sunday School secretary, In Service teacher, a Relief Society teacher and secretary, a visiting teacher, and sang in the Cornish Ward Choir. She is survived by 2 sons and 2 daughters: Brent (Sonja) Buttars of Smithfield, UT; Kim (Mary) Buttars of Palmdale, CA; Jane Buttars Pitcher of Preston, Idaho; Lisa (Larin) Lind of Logan, UT; 16 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Chester, infant son Charlie, granddaughter Brenda, and great-grandson Decklan. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nyman Funeral Home. A viewing will be held Wednesday, November 28, from 6:00-8:00 at the LDS Church at 825 North 200 West, Logan. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 29, at 12:00 at the same location, from 10:45-11:45. Burial in the Cornish cemetery. Condolences and memories can be shared online at www.NymanFH.com
