Jean Elizabeth Snooks, 97, of Denton MT, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Valle Vista Healthcare in Lewistown. She was born in Gilt Edge, MT on October 4, 1921 to John G. and Carrie B. (Beal) Taylor. Jean attended grades 1-12 in Lewistown, MT. On July 28, 1939, Jean married George R. Snooks in Lewistown. Together, they raised three children: Ken, Kay, and Bonnie. Jean waitressed at the Bowling Alley Café, worked at the Denton Post Office, and in 1956 went to work at… Read More » the Denton school cafeteria. Jean was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a seamstress, enjoyed quilting, crafting, knitting, crocheting, gardening, playing cards, and in her later years having coffee with her friends at the Denton Bar and Café. Jean is survived by her children: Ken G. Snooks of Coffee Creek, MT, Kay J. Osburnsen of Davidsonville, MD, and Bonnie E. Snooks of Fort Worth, TX; grandchildren, Kevin Osburnsen, Erin Derks, and Brandon Snooks; and great grandchildren, Lindsey Osburnsen, Corbin Derks, and Noa Derks. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Snooks by 11 years; siblings, Carol Rinker, Bill Taylor, and Jim Taylor; and two grandchildren, Shane Snooks and Erik Osburnsen. At Jean’s request, there will not be a service; cremation has taken place. Memorial donations can be made in her honor to the Denton Ambulance Fund.
