Obituary for Gerald W. Pickens Gerald W. Pickens, 86, died Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at his residence in Jackson, TN after a long illness. He was born in Lockseburg, AR to the parents of Willie and Romadell Pickens. He graduated Memphis State University with a doctorate in Jurisprudence and had his own law firm. He was a Mason, a Shriner, a Deacon at Wards Grove Baptist Church, and was a Korean War Navy Veteran. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Thresia Dunn Pickens of Jackson, TN; two sons, Prentis and Deborah Pickens of Bartlett, TN; Gary and Jennifer Pickens of Hermitage, TN; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marie Pickens McFarland. He loved music and was a talented musician playing the Tuba in the Shriner’s Band, enjoyed reading, and loved music in general. SERVICES: The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. with a funeral service following at 2:00 P.M. at Wards Grove Baptist Church.
