OBITUARY Frances Jean Glass June 11, 1925 – November 25, 2018 Frances Jean Tanner Glass, 93, from Tyler, Texas gained her heavenly wings on Sunday, November 25th, 2018. Frances was born on June 11th, 1925 to William Roy and Jessie Caldonia (Gibson) Tanner in Aquilla, Texas. She was married to Luther Norris Glass on November 1st, 1946. Frances graduated from Aquilla High School in 1942. She worked for General Motors during World War II and then the Peresian Fur Company. After those times, she made her living as a homemaker. She was a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Frances loved and cared for her family. She was always there anytime they needed her. Her silly antics and her “hugs, pecks and kisses on the neck” will be forever missed. She had a passion for the Lord. She was a faithful member of the Omen Road/University church of Christ since 1961. She enjoyed visiting the sick and shut-ins from her church, along with any other thing at the church she could possibly do or help with. She also loved sports, especially basketball. She even played for the Dallas Nu-Grapes professional half-court basketball team. Frances is survived by her soul mate of 72 years, Luther Norris Glass of Tyler, TX; Daughter – Jo Ann Taylor, and husband Bill of Tyler, TX; Son – Keith Glass and wife Karon of Tyler, TX; Brother, David Lee Tanner of Waco, TX; Granddaughters – Sarah Alvey and husband Derric of Lindale, TX; Emily Taylor of Tyler, TX; Jessica Taylor of Ben Wheeler, TX; Holli Shull and husband Collin of Tyler, TX; Grandsons – Jeremy Taylor and wife Alicen of Tyler, TX; Todd Glass and wife Kenda of Tyler, TX. She was loved by everyone, especially her great grandchildren – Logan, Addi, Jaydee, Cord, Jolee, Kacee, Annie, Gage, Henry and Charlotte. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, William Roy and Jessie Caldonia Tanner; her sister – Betty Paula Schofield; her brother – Clyde Tanner and wife Katherine; her best friend – Aunt Christine Layne and husband Bo; and countless other extended family members. Services will be held on Wednesday, November 28 at 2pm in the chapel at Lloyd James Funeral Home with Neil Thurman officiating. The family will receive friends and family at a visitation at 12:30pm. Pall Bearers are Jeremy Taylor, Todd Glass, Logan Glass, Stephen Schofield, J.T. Schofield and Derric Alvey.
