Obituary for Floyd Brown Jr. Floyd Brown Jr. was born September 24, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Floyd Brown Sr. and Lillie Bell Cathy-Brown who preceded him in death. Floyd was the youngest of four siblings. James Willie who preceded him in death, Lonnie Mae Jones and Lillie Mae Brown-Wheeler. Floyd professed the Baptist Faith at an early age and became active in church where he ministered in Sunday School, Youth Choir, as a Church Usher and a Sound Coordinator. Floyd was educated in the St. Louis Public School System. After graduation from Summer High School, he attended Forest Park Community College, where he received an Associate’s Degree in Graphic Arts. He was employed by the United States Postal Service where he retired after 30 years of loyal and dedicated service. He planned to travel and see things he’d never seen before and enjoyed fishing, painting, dancing, traveling and sports. He especially loved the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Team ~ growing up, his favorite player was Lou Brock. On January 21, 1983, Floyd married Michelle Clemons. To their union, two children were born: Ebony Dominique Brown and Floyd Stevon (Stevie) Brown. He was a devoted and loving father. His children meant the world to him. On February 9, 2013, Floyd married Cynthia Marie Bernsen who preceded him in death. He was a loving dedicated husband. On Novemeber 9, 2018, while vacationing in Cancun, Mexico, he made his transition to Glory. Leaving to remember his amazing life are: his children: Ebony Dominique Brown, Floyd Stevon (Stevie) Brown; two granddaughters: Aaliyah Brown (preceded in death) and Kennedi Michelle Lewis (who fondly called him Papa) she was the love of his life. Nothing was too good for Kennedi. He also leaves behind two sisters: Lonnie Mae Jones of Memphis, Tennessee and Lillie Mae Brown-Wheeler of St. Louis, Missouri; two aunts: Alberta Winston (special aunt/mother) of St. Louis, Missouri and Maggie Kendall of Memphis, Tennessee; two nieces: Tonya Wheeler and Trinae Wheeler; two nephews: Demetrius Wheeler and Tristan Henderson; One very special cousin/sister Marilyn Gooch; cousin/brother: Tommie (Janet) Gooch, extended family: The Bernsens Kenneth, Margaret, Donna Bernsen; a special brother Ken (Kara) Bernsen; nephew and niece: Joe and Sofi Brensen; special friends: Gary and Beverly Dugger, Mark and Dodie Fain and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends will be received from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 19, 2018, at the New Covenant with Harmony Baptist Church 1888 Andros Ct, Ferguson, Missouri. The family would love to see their friends and family in their St. Louis Cardinals clothing. Home-Going Services will follow on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the church, with Rev. Ronnie Houston officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Florissant. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the name of his granddaughter: Kennedi Lewis.
