EVELYN A COATE 2018

EVELYN A. COATE Evelyn A. Coate, 93, of Piqua, passed away at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit of Upper Valley Medical Center surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born August 15, 1925 in West Milton to the late John and Ruth (Sotzing) Wackler. She married Russell Bell, who preceded her in death. She then married Max Coate, who also preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, Michael (Heather) Bell of Piqua; one daughter, Melodie (Vennard) Vorhees of Piqua; one step-daughter, Barbara (late Bobby) Dearth; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ned (Joan) Wackler of Troy and Dale (late Shirley) Wackler of Vandalia; and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Wackler. Mrs. Coate retired from Empo Pump, where she worked in production as a press operator. She was a member of the Troy Baptist Temple. Her hobbies included gardening, painting ceramics, babysitting great-grandchildren, and watching her families’ dogs. Memorial service to honor her life will begin at 1:30 pm, Monday, November 12, 2018 at Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Pastor David Thomasson officiating; with burial following at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County, Inc., P.O. Box 502, Troy, OH 45373.
