Obituary for Erskine Edwards Erskine I. Edwards, 53, beloved husband of Lisa (Sanders) Edwards for 27 years went to be with the Lord on Wednesday the 14th of November after his long courageous battle with cancer. Erskine was surrounded by his wife and daughter as he passed comfortably at Midstate Hospital in hospice care. Erskine is survived by his son, Darrius and daughters, Sadie and Melony. Erskine was an avid Sports enthusiast, born in the beautiful island of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean to the late parents Mr. & Mrs. Evans & Eileen Edwards. He leaves behind his four brothers Roger, Raymond, John, George Edwards, his sister Patricia Clarke, along with his multiple nephews, nieces, his mother-in-law Annette, four sisters-in law, three brothers-in-law, close relatives, Debrah, Judy and many others who loves him dearly and will miss him. Erskine was a very loving, charismatic and intelligent person growing up in the islands, he graduated from Iere High School in Siparia excelling in Mathematics. He migrated with a desire to pursue this passion but was guided into his true calling as a caregiver. Erskine worked as a Psychiatric Registered Nurse at Cheshire Correctional Facility and New England Homecare. He has left a lasting impression on his coworkers and patients for being caring, loving and compassionate.A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018 at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden. Reflection of Life will be from 9:00 to 10:30 am, a Memorial Service will be from 10:30 to 11:15 am. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, 817 Old Colony, Meriden CT. A Repast will be at the Comfort Inn, 900 East Main St., Meriden from 12 to 4 pm. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt gratitude to all the health care providers at Midstate Medical for all the love and care they showed to our beloved Erskine. Special thank you to Erskine’s Classmates from Iere High School; Liz, Prisca, Michael Barry, Denise, Martin and Yvonne, his co-workers; Krissy, Lou, Carol, Phil Santavenere for being a rock in Erskine’s life during his most challenging times.
