Obituary of Doris Springer Doris C Springer, 90, of Port Matilda, died Thursday, November 1, 2018, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born February 17, 1928, in Altoona, she was the daughter of the late Charles Milton and Anna Hester Crider. She is survived by her three daughters, Joy Springer Hawbaker and her partner, Daniel Sheaks, of State College, Janice L. Kalmbach and her husband, John, of Port Matilda, and Linda J. Rodman and her husband, Michael, of Aiken, South Carolina. Doris was preceded in death by her sister Malvina Rudy and her three brothers, Don Crider, Paul Crider and Charles Crider. She was a 1945 graduate of Altoona Area High School. Doris worked in publishing and was employed by both Jostens Yearbook and Bell Telephone. Doris was Baptist by faith. She was a member of the Centre Hall Red Hat Ladies. Friends will be received at the Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College, on Monday, November 5, 2018 from 12 noon until 1 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Reverend Steven Burns officiating. Burial will be in Blair County Memorial Park, Bellwood. Memorial contributions may be directed to Team Ream, Team Ream Foundation, and P.O. Box 462, Boalsburg, PA 16827.
