OBITUARY Charlie Clarence Pfeiffer Jr. May 15, 1931 – November 29, 2018 Charlie Pfeiffer ,87, passed away on November 29, 2018 on his farm in Veribest, Tx. He was born on May 15, 1931 in Prairie Hill, Tx. near Brenham to Charlie and Elsie Pfeiffer. In 1947 his family moved to a farm near Veribest, Eola and San Angelo High School, graduating in 1950. Two years later he joined the Air Force during the Korean War and was an aircraft technician. He was Honorably discharged as a corporal in 1952, and returned home to farm. During these years he farmed, worked for Patterson signs, hauled cotton and later owned a trucking business in Big Spring, Tx. He returned to San Angelo in 1961 and worked in civil service at Goodfellow AFB. in 1965 he purchased a farm in Veribest, Tx and moved into a house he built a year later. He continued with civil service and farming until he retired in 1994. After retiring, he loved traveling the United States in his pickup and RV claiming to have visited every state and parts of Canada. Charlie was happiest on a tractor or in his barn “fixing” something. He was well-known for his bar-b-que, steaks and fried catfish and often shared with his neighbors. He was a member of Miles Masonic Lodge, Waco Scottish Rite Bodies, Suez Shrine Temple (Potentate 1994) , Brenham Elks Lodge, Trinity Lutheran Church in Miles, Tx., Royal Order of Jesters, and the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Association. He was preceded I death by his parents, infant twins; Daryl and Sheryl and a special friend Debbie Penny. He is survived by his sons; Faron (Barbi), Brent, of San Angelo, Tx and Kevin (JoNell) of Skiatook, Ok., grandchildren; Trevor Pfeiffer, Aymie Portwood, Melissa Turner, Taylor Bacon, and Ashley Pfeiffer, three great-grandchildren; Haley, Kylee and Carolina, sister Doris (George) Halfmann, special family member Orr and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Special thanks to his nurses; Tandy, Candy, Miranda and Jim, as well as his doctors. Pallbearers will be Greg Halfmann, Dan Reed, Joe Holland, Ken, Gary and Greg Phinney. Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Young, Ralph Parker, David Hermann, Cindy Martin, and his Masonic brothers at Miles Masonic Lodge. Visitation will be at 10:00am Monday December 03, 2018 at Weatherby Hall in Miles, Tx., service will follow at 12:30pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in miles, Tx. followed by interment at Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers please make donations to your favorite charity of choice.
