Obituary for Aurora Dora Mancillas Aurora Dora Mancillas, age 82 of Rockdale, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 26, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale with Father Pedro Castillo and Deacon Gus Coelho officiating. Cremation will follow services. Visitation is 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Aurora Dora Mancillas was born December 25, 1935 in Rockne, Bastrop County, Texas to Nicolas and Juanita (Diaz) Lopez. On January 31, 1970, she and Ronnie Mancillas, Sr. were married in Dallas. She has lived in Rockdale since 1976 and was formerly of Granger. Dora worked as a sales clerk with Wal Mart in Rockdale until her retirement. She was a homemaker who dearly loved her family, friends and grandchildren. She was a very caring person who liked to be with people, offer help and always a hug. She enjoyed family picnics and dancing. Dora was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Daniel Mancillas, a grandson, Robert Velez and brother, Nick Lopez. Surviving are her husband, Ronnie Mancillas, Sr. of Rockdale; three sons, Frank Garcia and wife Ester of Rockdale, Hector Garcia and wife Tricia of Rockdale, Ronnie Mancillas, Jr. and wife Deborah of Fort Worth; six daughters, Brenda Young and husband David of Rockdale, Diana Martinez of Rockdale, Gloria Wall and husband Kenneth of Minerva, Doreen Martinez and husband Ramon of Taylor, Diana Mancillas of Florida and Ninfa Mancillas of Florida and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
