Walter La Francis Moore Sr., the son of William Moore and Alma Claytor Moore, born November 21, 1924 at Beckley Coal Mine #3. Walter passed away October 24, at 9:55 A.M. at OSF St. Francis Hospital Peoria, Illinois. Walter L. Moore was a Veteran of the United States Navy WW” and received the American Area Campaign Medal and the Asiatic -Pacific Area Campaign Medal. Walter L Moore was preceded in death by one son Walter L. Moore Jr. his first wife Mary Moore, and his second wife… Read More » Druzealia Moore, his brothers John Ed Moore, Harold Moore, Frank V. Moore, Alfred Moore, Hershey Lee Moore, Ernest Moore and sisters Elizabeth Moore and Barbara Annette Moton. Walter is survived by his wife Maureen Haynes Moore and his children in Peoria Jessica Moore, Sharla Watson, Toree Jones, Michelle Harvey, Brandon Watson and Jimmie M. Moore. In addition, Walter is survived by children in other cities and states that include, Jackie Davis (NC}, Rev. Frank D. Moore (OH), Michael P. Moore (Waukegan, IL.), and Mary M. Ward (GA). Walter Moore was blessed with 21 Grandchildren, 20 Great-grandchildren, and 26 Nephews and Nieces. Funeral services are pending and will be held at Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery Rock Island, Illinois.
