OBITUARY Vernon L Carr September 26, 1935 – September 29, 2018 Dateline- Harmony Vernon “Taddy” L. Carr, 83, of Harmony, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday September 29, 2018, in Skowhegan, Maine. He was born September 26, 1935 in Guilford, Maine, the sixth of seven children born to Winfield S. Carr and Dorothy (Smith) Carr. He was educated in Harmony schools. He married the former Dorine Annis. He began his working career as a carpenter with his Dad, then working in area shoe shops before going on to own and operate Carr and Pease in partnership with Daniel Pease building homes and remodeling projects. Taddy was a past member of the Patriots Club in Harmony. He was an avid hunter and he also enjoyed going fishing, riding motorcycles and snowmobiles, going to sport games to watch his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved getting together with “the boys” at his nephews camp on RoundTop, and loved to travel. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Dorine of 64 years of Harmony; his three children, Louanne Kerr and her husband David of Pittsfield, Leonard Carr and his companion Cherylene Sevey of Athens, Lorhyta Bennett and her husband Steve of Pittsfield; one brother Gordon Carr and his wife Janice of Harmony; one sister Barbara Herrick of Guilford; eight grandchildren, Alycia (Jason), Aaron, Aric (Ashley), Travis (Sarah), Chadd (Kate), Ryan (Alona), Shawn (Sarah) and Sarah; two extended grandchildren, Theodore (Mary) and Valerie (Jason); eight great-grandchildren, Abel, Colton, Cooper, Jacob, Lily, Meah, Vito and Lila; two sisters-in-law; Louise Carr of Harmony, Marilyn Durrwachter and her husband Ed of Hartland and Davenport, FL; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sisters Sharon Bunker and her husband Robert and Dorothy Barrows and husband Eldon; his two brothers, Richard Carr and Dana Carr. A graveside service will be held on Saturday October 6, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the North Road Cemetery in Harmony, Maine. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
