Obituary for Valerian Joseph Mayerczak Valerian Joseph Mayerczak, 78, a life long resident of Rutherford passed away October 15, 2018. He was born in Passaic, NJ. As a young man he entered into the United States Army and proudly served form 1964-1968. He married his sweetheart Maryann (nee Gul) and together they have raised two wonderful sons Michael & Jeff. His career was in education as a respected English teacher for over 25 years in Clifton High School. He was a member of the Clifton Teacher’s Association and the International Reading Association. When Valerian had spare time he enjoyed fishing, cooking, and he particularly loved to Polka dance. Valerian will be deeply missed by his loving & devoted wife Maryann of 53 years, his sons; Michael, Jeff Mayerczak and his wife Narges and his grandchildren; Mina & Leili. He is predeceased by his siblings Edward Mayerczak & Alberta Puzio Family will receive friends Thursday 2:00-4:00pm & 7:00-9:00pm in the Calhoun–Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Avenue, Rutherford. Funeral will be held on Friday, gathering 9:00am in Funeral Home for 10:00am Mass of Christian Liturgy in the Most Sacred Heart RC Church, Wallington.
