Tim Lee Wheeler, age 61, of Mattoon passed away on Sunday afternoon, October 28, 2018 at his residence. Memorial services honoring his life will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Schilling Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Boldt officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home. Survivors include his children, Megan Wheeler, Blake Wheeler, Season (Cole) Ervin and Claire Wheeler; grandchildren, Kingston, Vivian, and Beckett Wheeler and Jett, Eve, and Judd Ervin; brother, Alfred “Bud” (Valerie) Wheeler; sisters, Peggy Sims and Vicki Glaze; and best friend, John Bailey. Tim was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sue Gast. Tim loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed antiquing and going to auctions. Tim will be remembered for his great sense of humor. Most of all, Tim cherished spending time with his friends and family, especially his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. Memorial donations in his honor are suggested to the Coles County Animal Shelter, 6818 North County Road 1120 East, Charleston, IL 61920.
