Obituary for Thelma Higgins Perkins Manning, SC, formerly of Conway… On September 27, 2018, Thelma Higgins Perkins, loving wife and mother, passed away at the age of 91. Thelma was born on July 10, 1927, in Blue Hill, Maine to Ralph and Hazel Webber Higgins. On April 26, 1946, she married Loren Edward Perkins. They raised one daughter, Nanette, and two sons, Richard and Robert, in Franklinville, NY and then Myrtle Beach, SC. Loren passed on July 9, 1986. She married Warren Carl Fordham on May 26, 1990 and moved to Charlotte, NC. They later retired to SC, near Manning beside Lake Marion. Thelma had a constant desire for reading, especially newspapers and magazines, and she was adept at solving puzzles found within. She was known for her fighting spirit, her detailed memory, and her matriarchal influence over her entire family. Thelma is survived by her husband, Warren, her three children, Nanette, Richard, and Robert, her six grandchildren, and her four great-grandchildren. A private service will be held upon interment.
