T Hayes Sanders October 21 1936 September 27 2018 (age 81)

Thomas “Hayes” Sanders 81 of Wintersville died Thursday September 27, 2018 at home after a battle with Myeloid Dysplastic Syndrome (blood disorder). He was born October 21, 1936 in Steubenville. Hayes the son of the late Thomas “Lawson” and Bertha Ann Rensi Sanders. Hayes was a retired banker having worked for 40 years at the former First National Bank, Heritage bank, Bank One, and J.P. Morgan Chase. Hayes also served his country in US Army. Surviving are his wife Bonnie Haspel Sanders whom he married August 17, 1968, two sons, Tom and Matt Sanders both of Wintersville. One sister, Vincetta (James) Blackburn of Steubenville. two grandchildren, Cortney Kavanaugh and Brock Sanders, and many nieces and nephews. Hayes was a member of the F&AM lodge 45 and was 33rd degree Mason, the Steubenville Shrine Club, the Aladdin Shrine Temple, Columbus, OH for 50 years, and the American Legion Argonne Post 33. He also enjoyed his morning coffee group at the Wintersville McDonalds, and avid Big Red and Steelers fan. Hayes would say “I’ve always had a great life and have been blessed more than a man can ask for”, he will be missed by many. There will be no visitation and services will be private.
