Susan Marie Kuhn 2018

Susan Marie Kuhn (Jodoin), 62, of South Burlington passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends on October 13th, 2018 at the McClure Miller VNA Respite House following a long year and a half courageous battle with cancer. She was a fighter every step of the way until the very end. She was born on December 31st, 1955 in Burlington, VT, the daughter of Laurette Jodoin and the late Joseph Jodoin. She was a graduate of Burlington High School in 1973 and Trinity College in 1998. On May 28th, 1977 she married Michael Kuhn at St. Anthony’s in Burlington. She spent the last 40 years employed with General Dynamics in the human resources department. Susan went above and beyond at work and her door was always open. Not only did everyone come to her for the day to day business side of things, but she developed lasting friendships as well. She was so thankful of the support she felt from her GD team, especially in the past year. She was also involved and a big part of the GD Wellness program as well as the Relay for Life. Her co-workers were extremely appreciative of her dedication and loyalty to them and the company. She truly loved what she did. Susan is survived by her husband Michael Kuhn of South Burlington, her daughters Kristina Bush and her husband Matthew of Jericho and her daughter Lindsay Mott and her husband Travis and their children Camden and Hadley, of South Burlington. She is also survived by her mother Laurette Jodoin of Burlington, her sister Janet Hatin of South Burlington, brother Robert Jodoin (Louise) of Colchester, brother Raymond of Milton, father in-law Joseph Kuhn of Es Jct., sister in-laws Cecilia Hochstin (William) of Windsor, Mary Arel (Roger) of Shelburne, Barbara Robbins (Michael) of St. Croix, USVI and, Laura Moeykens (John) of Stanton, North Dakota and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her father Joseph Jodoin, mother in-law Ruth Kuhn, and brother in-law Norman Hatin. Anyone who knew Susan knew her kind heart and generous personality. She always put everyone’s needs before her own. She was known to her grandkids as Nana and they brought so much joy to her life. If anyone had a conversation with her, they heard about how special they were to her. She was so proud of the family that she and Michael created. She loved spending time with her girls and was so proud of them. Family celebrations were what she always looked forward to and loved when the family all came together. She will always be remembered as the most generous, caring and loving person. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, October 17th, 2018 from 5-8pm at Ready Funeral Home South Chapel on Shelburne Road in Burlington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 18th, 2018 at 11:30am at St. John Vianney Church on Hinesburg Road in South Burlington with burial to follow in Resurrection Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the McClure Miller VNA Respite House, 3113 Roosevelt Hwy, Colchester, VT 05446 or to the American Cancer Society.
