OBITUARY Steven Phillips December 26, 1963 – September 28, 2018 Steven Blair Phillips, 54, of Charlottesville, VA, passed away September 28, 2018. Born December 26, 1963, he is the son of Cornelia Farrar Phillips (Connie) and Walter Maxwell Phillips, Jr. (Sonny) of Forest, VA. In addition to his parents, Steve is survived by his children, Lauren Alexandra Phillips (Ali), of Charlottesville, and his son, Hunter Blair Phillips of Winston-Salem, NC., and his former wife and mother of his children Vickey P. Phillips of Richmond; two siblings, Jon Bradford Phillips (Bernadette), and their children Sarah and Justin Phillips of Lynchburg, and Jan Phillips Moss (Bill), and their children Carter Moss (Brooke) and Kyle Moss of Bedford, VA. Also left to mourn Steve’s passing is a very special aunt, Reba Farrar Woodward, and her sons Eddie, Danny and Dean of Charlottesville, VA., along with Steve’s two special friends, Elizabeth Williams and Robert Papandrea (Ratchet). Also included are many other relatives and an abundance of friends. Steve worked in the furniture industry all his life, starting with his family’s retail store Lancaster Galleries in Lynchburg, VA, before moving on as an independent wholesale representative for large manufacturers such as Braxton Culler, Lexington Industries, and Lee Upholstery. Most recently he worked for the Ashley homestores in Charlottesville and Fredericksburg. Steve also maintained his wonderful sense of humor even after his sudden illness. His personality was compelling and he always had the ability to make everyone laugh. His faith in Jesus Christ was of the upmost importance to him and he recently was baptized at Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, VA. Rest in peace, Steven, we will miss you forever. Teague Funeral Home of Charlottesville is handling his care. The family will have memorial service at 2pm on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Northside Baptist Church, 1325 E. Rio Rd.
