Obituary for Shirley Whaley Magnuson Shirley Jean Locke Whaley Magnuson, 83, widow of David John Magnuson, passed away October 18, 2018. A native of Albion, Michigan, daughter of the late Frederick and Nora Holmes Locke, she was a homemaker and a member of Community Baptist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Melody Phillips (Steve) of Blissfield, Michigan, Lorrie Davis (Neal) of Greenville and Beth Manes (Tim) of Minneapolis, Minnesota; a sister, Darlene Marshall of Allen, Michigan; thirteen grandchildren, Ben Phillips, Nicole Phillips, Caleb Phillips, Joe Davis, Brooke Crook, Jared Davis, Morgan Woodham, Alex Davis, Kathryn Manes, Evan Manes, Alyssa Whaley, Kaitlyn Whaley and T.J. Whaley; nine great-grandchildren; former daughter-in-law, Michelle Whaley Leatherwood of Greer; and her best friend, Don Reynolds of Taylors. Mrs. Magnuson was predeceased by her first husband, Erwin Whaley, one daughter, Chris Whaley and a son, Terry Whaley. Funeral services will be held 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Community Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. David Whitcomb. A private burial will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held 2:00-4:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. The family is at the home. Online condolences may be made at www.thewoodmortuary.com.
