Sheril Kay West, passed away peacefully at home on October 17, 2018, with her husband and daughters by her side. She was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in the spring of 2018. Being a private person, it was her wish to spend her final weeks in the company of her immediate family. Born on August 19, 1941 to Vernon and Dorothy Wearmouth, she was the eldest daughter of four children. Her education began in a one room school house, and continued until she graduated from Newton High School, with the Class of 1959. Sheril was blessed with 3 children, Alisa (Brian) Marshall, Lori (Eric) Waller, and Randy (Robin) Repp. She has 5 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. She found the love of her life, when she met Dave West. They were united in marriage on November 17, 2007. Together they shared a joy of the rural lifestyle, and a special dapple dachshund named Laci K. Some of Sheril’s vocations included judging poultry at county fairs, garden clubs, the Moravia Fall Festival Committee, the Red Hat Ladies, and the Marshalltown Kennel Club. Sheril’s final resting place is Hillcrest Cemetery in Moravia. She was interred in a small private ceremony with family. Memorials have been established to either the Jasper County Animal Rescue League or the Moravia Historical Society, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
