Our beloved “Sonshine”, Shane R. Rengel, age 36, of St. Cloud, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 11, 2018. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, St. Cloud. Rev. Greg Lieser will officiate and interment will be at Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud. Visitation will be from 10 AM -12:00 on Saturday at the church. Shane was born on February 2, 1982 in St. Cloud to Richard “Dick” Rengel and Linda (Tripp) Coleman. Shane had a zest for life, and took full advantage of life’s multifaceted opportunities! He adored his family, and many friends, & spent a lot of memorable time with them. Shane loved to travel the world & had been to 25 countries, his desire was to have traveled to 40 by his 40th birthday. He most recently traveled to Spain, Portugal, Morocco ( including a camel ride and night of camping in the Sahara Desert, which he loved), a pit stop in England, and topped the trip off with a weekend in NYC to attend an Eric Clapton concert at Madison Square Garden. His love, Nicole, his Mother, and Step-father shared this amazing adventure with him. He also enjoyed scuba diving, boating, motorcycling, gardening, sports, music (he played drums & guitar), & was an avid player in the Stock Market. He loved photography and had an amazing talent in capturing the essence of life in his photos. He earned his private pilots license while attending St. Cloud State University, and also attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. Shane had a great sense of humor, was compassionate & had a generous heart. He was always himself no matter who he was with. Shane is survived by his mother and step-father, Linda (Kevin) Coleman of Sartell; Grandmother, Etta Tripp (Larry Wallaker) of St. Cloud; fiancé, Nicole Byrnes, of St. Cloud; Aunt, Evonne (Gene) Pett of Arizona; Uncles, Gary (Julia) & Jeffrey Tripp, of St. Cloud; Cousins, Amber Wiese (Dominic, Amara, & Morgan), & McKenzy Tripp of St. Joseph, ShaeLee Tripp, & John Schneider of St. Cloud, Alexa Tripp of Milwaukee, WI; step-brother, Kyle Coleman of Sartell and step-sister, Jessica (Daniel) Hayes & daughters of Royalton. Also survived by his & Nicole’s beloved cats Ludwig & Peek-a-Boo. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard W. Rengel (2017); Grandfather, Leonard Tripp (1990) & Grandparents, Robert (1985) & Idelle (1953) Rengel; Aunts, Karin Tripp (1985) & Judy Schneider (2016); Cousin , Jennifer Schneider (1984); Cherished cats, Pinky & Cheddar ( Fall 2018) & many other felines he loved over the years. Shane will be immensely missed by the many persons that loved and cherished him until his curtailed time on Earth, and they will continue to for eternity.
