Obituary of Ruby Martin Funeral services for Ruby Mae Martin, 78, of Bridgeport, Texas will be 2:00 pm Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Bridgeport, officiated by Bro. Gary Demmitt. Burial will follow in Thomas Cemetery. Pallbearers are grandsons Ethan Coursey, Ian Coursey, Billy Martin, Cody Martin, Eric Bruce, and Zackery Sparks. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Wednesday, October 17 at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Ruby passed away Tuesday, October 16 in Bridgeport. Ruby was born May 13, 1940 in Paradise, Texas to Dalton Edward and Annie Mae (Tipps) Rich. She was a 1958 graduate of Chico High School, and married Billy Jack Martin of Bridgeport on July 3, 1958. Ruby was a homemaker who was the best cook in the country and made the best hot rolls, according to family and friends. She enjoyed shopping and going to the beauty shop to get her hair done. She leaves behind her children Billy Edward Martin and wife Kerrie, Rickey Martin, and Darla Coursey and husband Lee, all of Bridgeport; brothers D. Edward Rich, Joe Lynn Rich, and Curtis Ralph Rich; grandchildren Jill Lambert, Ethan Coursey, Ian Coursey, Amy Wylie, Cody Martin, Eric Bruce, Billy Martin, Cheryl Hughes, and Tanya Prince; and 13 great-grandchildren. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
