Obituary for Roy Harold Mayes Roy H. Mayes, age 75 of Newport, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018 at his home. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his son, Johnny Mayes; parents, Ira and Helen Mayes; ex-wife, Shirley Mayes; brother, Don Allen Mayes; sister, Reba Bryant. Survivors include his children, Timmy Mayes and Evelyn Woods; grandchildren, Chancey Woods, Blake Woods, John Cameron Mayes, Niki Champaigne; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Fain Mayes and Terry Mayes; sisters, Georgia Daniel and Bonnie (Phil) Sunstein; along with several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 29, 2018 at Alder Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Chaplain Don Price officiating.
