Obituary for Ronald Walter Knapp Mr. Ronald Walter Knapp of Rockford, Michigan, age 72, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, September 30, 2018. Ron was born to Walter and Viola (Ikerd) Knapp on May 22, 1946, in Burlington, Iowa. For many years, Ron worked in advertising before retiring. Among his self-taught passions were boating, landscaping, and technology— but none were above his love for photography. He loved capturing the world through his lens, whether it be family, or nature. He loved the beauty and creativity photography allowed him to experience and share. Ron’s photographs will leave an everlasting legacy for his family and friends. Ron is survived by his sole caregiver and loving wife of forty-nine years, Chris (Rasch); children, David (Lisa) Knapp and Jen (Mike) Cool; grandchildren, Justin (Eden) and Kayla Knapp, Quinton (Alexandra) Courteau, Max Hartman, and Jamarcus, Chris, and Aaliyah Cool; mother-in-law Rosemary Rasch; many brothers- and sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other beloved members of the family. Ron also leaves behind his faithful dog, Annie. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Leonard Knapp; father-in-law Bill Rasch; and brothers-in-law Dan and Terry Rasch. He will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all those who knew him. Several years ago, Ron suffered a stroke, limiting his ability to communicate. As difficult as that was for Ron, he was always able to show his love and concern for the people around him. The memorial service for Ron will be celebrated by Pastor Jon Huizenga at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at River Rock Church, 6060 Belding Road, Rockford, MI 49341. A time of visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Under the auspices of the Kent County Veteran’s Honor Guard and the United States Army, military honors will be performed following the service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to offer expressions of sympathy are encouraged to make a memorial contribution to Lori’s Voice, Lori’s Voice, P.O.
