Roger Alexander Whitaker, 55, of Asheville, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 28, 2018. Born in Buncombe County to the late Arthur R. and Betty Hill Whitaker, he worked at both Cardinal Health and National Wiper as a warehouse manager. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, Steve and Wade Whitaker. Survivors include his brother, Jeff Whitaker of Hendersonville; his sisters, Linda Garrison (Dewey) of Fairview and Tara Burnette (Simone) of Asheville; nephews and nieces, Brooke Garrison, Lamar, Justus, Tracey, Scott, Sarah and Brianna Whitaker. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Cane Creek Cemetery with Rev. Bill Lemore officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road, In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that all donation be made to Asheville Humane Society, 14 Forever Friend Lane, Asheville, NC, 28805.
