OBITUARY Robert Julian Cook Passed away on October 2, 2018 Robert (Bob) Julian Cook, 78, of Ramer, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Baptist South Hospital, Montgomery. He grew up in Ramer, Al and attended Montgomery County High School. He attended college at the University of Alabama, majoring in Business Administration. After leaving college, Bob worked for the Alabama Department of Industrial Relations in Huntsville until retiring in 1992. He was well known for his work in finding jobs for the youth. He was also president of ASEA for many years and president of the Employer Association of America. After retiring, Bob returned to Ramer to help his mother. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church where at times he served as deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a Christian with a caring and giving spirit. He was an avid reader and especially loved the Bible and history and political books. He was a big Auburn football fan. Bob impacted many lives in the Miss Alabama- Miss America system. He loved judging and putting on pageants in Huntsville and the Montgomery area. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Warren Cook and Edna Cook. He is survived by his sister, Shirley Cook of Huntsville; his brother, Joe Cook of Chattanooga, and niece, Beverly Giuliani of Franklin, TN. A special thanks to caregiver, Lonnie Mays, Baptist Health Care of Troy, and South Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Squad who helped him so many times and built him a ramp. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am- 11:00 am on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Friendship Baptist, 1577 Huffman Rd., Grady, Al, with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 11:30 am. Burial will follow in Ramer Cemetery with Rev. Chuck Francisco officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Friendship Baptist Church or to the charity of your choice.
