Retired Chief Warrant Officer 2 John Patrick Perkins February 9 1931 October 11 2018 (age 87)

CWO2 (Ret.) John Patrick Perkins, 87, left us to be with our Lord on Thursday, October 11, 2018. He was the first-born son of Fred and Della Perkins of Starks, Louisiana. After graduation, John entered the Army where he acted as Forward Observer for his artillery unit at the 38th Parallel in Korea. Due to his impoverished childhood, survival was his natural instinct and undoubtedly contributed to his successful military career where he was awarded the Bronze Star and Army Commendation Award. Retiring with honors after 23 years of military service, John and his wife Ria settled in Houston. Texas, not far from his birthplace. They eventually returned to Fayetteville to be closer to family. Always the outdoors man, he enjoyed golfing, skeet shooting, fishing and bowling. He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Ria Perkins; younger brother, Elroy Perkins and wife Virginia; daughter Vivian Bass and husband Allan; son Bo Perkins and wife Shari, granddaughter Jacqueline Perkins and great grandchildren JaKoby and Jessica Perkins. Rest In Peace Officer Perkins, JOB WELL DONE. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 in Rogers and Breece Chapel with Dr. Ron Hinson officiating. Full Military Honors will follow the service. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11 to 12:15 p.m

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Retired Chief Warrant Officer 2 John Patrick Perkins February 9 1931 October 11 2018 (age 87).
