Paul T Stromberg October 22, 1958 ~ September 24, 2018 Paul T Stromberg, 59, returned to his Heavenly Father on Monday, September 24, 2018, having succumbed to the effects of a heart attack. Paul spent his final weeks of mortal life doing what he loved, mountain biking near his second home in Tucson, AZ. He will always be known as the “King of the Mountain.” Paul was born in Ogden, Utah on October 22, 1958, the third child of Victor Wayne and Carolyn Thornley Stromberg. After graduating from Ogden High School, Paul became an accomplished competitor in triathlons, road biking, and mountain biking. From these formative years of life, Paul developed a lifelong love for endurance sports. On December 11, 1986, Paul married the love of his life, Julianne Tribe, for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. His life was his family. Julianne was his polar star. His boys were his best friends, and his daughter was his princess. Paul spent the majority of his adult life coaching youth in various sports. Paul founded the first competitive cross-country ski racing team in northern Utah. Paul is affectionately remembered for grooming fields in North Ogden using nothing but a snowmobile and an old box springs mattress. Paul played a large role in helping Weber County’s North Fork Park become the premiere nordic skiing venue in northern Utah. Two of the most notorious sections of trail in the park, “Nacho Hill” and “Libre Hill,” were named by Paul and will serve as a continuous reminder of his love for coaching and competition. Paul worked in the telecommunications industry for 40 years and was an accomplished field engineer who spent countless hours installing and maintaining 911 computer systems throughout Utah and the United States. Throughout his life, Paul firmly believed in and practiced the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He honorably served God’s children in his private endeavors and in church callings such as High Priests Assistant, Financial Secretary, Youth Leader and Instructor, and Elders and High Priest Quorum Instructor. Paul is survived by his wife of 31 years, Julianne Tribe Stromberg, his children, Alysha (Rocky Howes), Graham, Cole (Laura Smith), and Carson Stromberg, and many nieces and nephews whom he adored. Paul took particular pleasure in his role as Grandpa to his favorite three little girls in the world, Payton, Hayden, and Marlee. Paul was preceded in death by his nephew, Blake Stromberg, by his mother-in-law, Marge Tribe, and his brother-in-law, Steve Tribe. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday October 5, 2018 at Lindquist’s Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
