Obituary for Orlando R Giancola Orlando R. Giancola, 95, of Hamilton Sq. passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday October 12th. Born in Akron, Ohio Orlando moved to Abruzzi, Italy with his mother, two sisters and brother after his father’s death. He served in WWII before moving to Rome and working as a master tailor. In 1950 Orlando married the love of his life Maria Pia DeFlaviis and returned to America to start his family while working for Shaffer’s Tailors in Trenton, NJ for 52 years retiring at age 80. Orlando lived a simple and honest life raising his two children and becoming a devoted grandfather to his two lovely granddaughters. He enjoyed playing soccer in his younger years and watching it as time passed. Orlando is predeceased by his parents Donato and Maria Giuseppa Giancola, his sisters Maddalena DiRuscio and Rita Montauti. Orlando leaves to honor his memory his beloved wife of 68 years Maria Pia, a loving son Donato, a devoted daughter Rosanna Piechocinski and her husband William, his adoring granddaughters Dana Sanchez and her husband David and Ann Marie Piechocinski who lovingly used her nursing skills to help care for him. Orlando is also survived by his brother Querino Giancola and his wife Laura, nieces, nephews and his favorite companion Roxy. The family would like to send a special thank you to his aide Ariana who cared for him with much love and patience. Funeral services were held privately by the family with a funeral mass at Holy Cross Church and burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery yesterday Thursday October 18th. Funeral services were under the direction of Paula Morocco and the staff at the Chiacchio Southview Funeral Home Trenton.
