OBITUARY ODELL BRASWELL May 3, 1918 – October 18, 2018 Odell Braswell, age 100, the oldest veteran from Jackson County, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018. Born Friday, May 3, 1918; he was a US Army and Army Air Corp veteran, serving during WWII is survived by his wife of 71 years, Marie Scott Braswell; children, Teresa B. Lee, John N. Braswell, Nadell (Greg) Howell, Odell (Denice) Braswell, Jr.; grandchildren, Janet Lee, Bobbie Jean (Michael) Greene, Jamie (Shannon) Lee, Stephanie Braswell, Barry Braswell, Jenny Braswell, Kelly (BJ) Sullivan, Jordan Braswell, Brandi Wise (deceased), Brian Wise; and 19 great-grandchildren. Mr. Braswell earned his Doctorate in Education and taught at Maplewood High School; preached where needed but his last church was Clarksville Highway Church of Christ; he enjoyed flying, riding motor cycles, and gardening. A celebration of life will be conducted 2:00 Wednesday, October 24, 2018 in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Leslie Chapman officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will gather to remember Mr. Braswell at a visitation Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 5:00 until 7:00 and Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 12:00 until the 2:00 service at Forest Lawn 1150 South Dickerson Road Goodlettsville, Tennessee Send Flowers Show Your Support Share Obituary share to facebook share by email share link Receive Notifications
