Obituary for Michael Wayne Hert “K’amam’ul Michael W. “K’amamul” Hert (62) of Harrah passed away on Wednesday October 24, 2018 at his home. Michael was born in Toppenish on June 15, 1956 to Edward and Loretta (Orr) Hert. He was raised and educated in the lower valley and attended Perry Tech, YVC and Heritage College. He had worked as a master mechanic for the tribal mechanic shop and was presently working as a timber sales officer for the Yakama Nation. He loved mechanicing, beadworking, riding his Harley’s and hauling firewood. Mike was a decendent of the Yakama Nation. He is survived by his companion, Rena Ganuelas of Harrah; three sons, Dolan and Eli Ganuelas and Brandon Hert all of Wapato; eight grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Hert of White Swan; four sisters, Juanita Adolphsen of Rochester, WA, Peggy Menning of Harrah, Sally Mendez of Lexington, NE and Mary Lopez of Wapato and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Dressing services will be at the Toppenish Community Center at 3PM Friday October 26, 2018 with overnight services to follow. Funeral services will start at the community center at 8AM Saturday October 27, 2018 for the procession to Tulee Cemetery, south of Toppenish.
