Obituary for Michael Donald Larson Michael Donald Larson, 71, was called home to our Heavenly Father and his parents on October 15th, 2018. Mike was born May 20th, 1947 to Donald and Ina (Anderson) Larson in the City of Eau Claire, where he lived most of his life. On May 11th 1968, Mike married the love of his life, Audrey Timm, and they shared 40 years together. Mike moved to Elk Mound in 1979 so he could begin his career at UW Stout in Menomonie. Mike worked at UW Stout as a custodial engineer for 29 years before he retired. Mike also served on the Elk Mound Village board as a trustee for 8 years. Mike was very active in his church, Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church in Elk Mound, serving as a board member, adult Sunday School teacher and Lay Minister for many years. He was a member of the church and community choirs. One of Mike’s many passions was writing poetry, he often wrote poems for celebrations and events but his passion truly evolved when he wrote a poem about his sister that was published in a book of poetry. Mike is survived by his daughter, Jodi (Steve Christopherson) Larson of Colfax, WI, Andrew (Kayla) Larson of Chippewa Falls, WI, and Amy (Brian) Sternweis of Marshfield, WI; his sister, Tamara (John) Onsager of Eau Claire; his grandchildren, Brock Larson of Cookville, TN, Daria, Giorgiana, and LaVinia Larson of Chippewa Falls, WI, and Scarlet and Liam Sternweis of Marshfield, WI; Godchild, Jennifer Peterson of Eau Claire, WI; nephew, Jason (Marcy) Onsager of Eau Claire, WI; and many other relatives. Mike’s family would like to thank his cousin, Beth Mahlum for her care, kindness and friendship. A Celebration of Life will be at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2018, at Lenmark-Gomsrud- Linn Funeral Home, 1405 N Clairemont Ave, Eau Claire, with Pastor Preston Tippen officiating. A visitation will follow the service until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
