Michael Clyde Davis, 66, of Statesville, died Monday, October 29, 2018 at the home of his son. Mr. Davis was born in Mecklenburg County on September 23, 1952 and was the son of Eunice Bernice Thomas Davis and the late Clyde Bruce Davis. He attended Mecklenburg County schools and he was retired from Hickory Truss. Mr. Davis loved fast cars and especially his ’66 Chevelle SS with a 396 engine. Nothing compared to the love he had for fishing. That was his passion. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Betty Bartlett Davis. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, Michael Davis of Harmony and Shane Abernathy (Lisa) of Olin and one daughter, Ann Thomas of Bonifay, FL. He is also survived by three brothers, Bobby Davis (Laura) of Troutman and Ricky and Gary Davis, both of Charlotte, along with several grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, November 5 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bob Dennis officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
