Obituary for Maxie H Inman Surfside Beach….Maxie H. Inman Maxie Halden Inman was born September 12, 1937, in Loris, South Carolina, to the late Rupert Alton and Bertha Rackley Inman. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 30, 2018. Max proudly served his country in the US Air Force for 20 years, after which he graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and entered a second career as a computer test engineer for 14 years, until moving back home to South Carolina. Max is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Peggy Stevens Inman and two sons and families, Darryl Ray Inman and wife Diane and their children, Joshua, Courtney, Holly, and Cady; and James Eric Inman and wife Janette and their son Dagan, as well as two great-grandchildren, Joel Maxwell and Evander Jordan. Max especially enjoyed and shared with family his accomplished talents of woodworking and salt-water fishing. His surviving siblings and their spouses are Brenda Spivey and husband Billy Joe, Marvalene Hinton and husband Darrell, Gwendolyn “Susie” Hardee and husband Wesley, and Ray Inman and wife Sharon. He was predeceased by a brother, Herman Inman who is survived by his wife Ruth. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 3, from 6-8 pm at Goldfinch Funeral Home Beach Chapel, with a funeral service on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 10:00 am at Socastee United Methodist Church.
