Obituary for Marion W. Phillips (Walton) Marion W. Phillips passed away peacefully at the age of 96, on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at Doylestown Hospital. She was born on November 22, 1921 in Brooklyn, New York. Marion was the daughter of William and Gladys (Kerst) Walton. She moved to Allendale, NJ after marrying Jack Phillips and it was here where they raised their two boys. Marion worked at the United Jersey Bank in Glen Rock, NJ arranging commercial loans for 22 years until her retirement in 1987. After her husband of 28 years passed away she eventually relocated to Reading, Pa where she resided with her companion, Ray Hafer. Five years ago she moved to Doylestown, Pa where she happily resided at Wesley Enhanced Living. Here she enjoyed many activities and made many new Friends. She was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church in Reiffton, Pa. and the Eastern Star of NY. Marion was superb cook who loved to entertain. She was also an avid reader and traveler. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack, her son, Mark her sister Alberta Weidner and her companion Ray. Marion is survived by her loving son, Brad Phillips his wife Marian; her two grandchildren, Bradley and Jacqueline; her brother, Billy of Wilmington, NC and daughter-in-law Teri Phillips. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am in Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading. Interment will be at Forest Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Reformation Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 3670 Perkiomen Ave, Reading, PA 19606.
