Lois Evelyn Aldridge, 90, of Mapleton passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Rosewood Care Center in East Peoria. She was born September 28, 1928 in Charles City, IA to Hans H. and Genevive M. Young Bengard. She married Owen E. Aldridge February 8, 1947 in Lawrence, AR; he preceded her in death October 14, 2010. Her parents and brother, Don Bengard also preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Larry (Bobbi) Aldridge of Mapleton, Valerie (John Luster) Aldridge of Mapleton, Kathy… Read More » (Pat) Howard of Mapleton, Kent (Delia) Aldridge of Palatine; ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Lois owned and operated Lois’s Candle Works. She loved Sunday family pizza gatherings and she also had a great love for animals and her dogs. She was an avid camper and traveler. Per her wishes cremation has been accorded and no services will be held. Memorials may be made to Timber Hollis Fire Department in her name.
