Obituary for Linwood Allen Wilson Vanceboro- Linwood Allen Wilson, 68, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at his home after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Pitt County on July 7, 1950 to the late Linwood Earl and Margie McLawhorn Wilson. Allen worked as a bleach plant operator for Weyerhaeuser in New Bern for 42 years. Allen was an outdoorsman throughout his life who loved to hunt and fish. He loved spending time at his “second home” on the Pamlico River. Allen was also an avid Carolina Panthers fan. He belonged to the Weyerhaeuser Retirees group that meets twice yearly and was an honorary member of the Pitch Kettle Hunting Club. Allen is survived by his wife Jenny Sue Tripp Wilson of the home, a son Jared Bennett Allen Wilson, and a sister Emily Wilson Weir and husband Stuart. He is also survived by nephew, Richard Allen Weir and wife April, niece, Evelyn Denise Tyson, great nieces and nephews, Connor and Catherine Weir, Andrew and Ashley Tyson, great-great niece Olivia Kay Tyson, and godchildren Jaycee and Emma Bass. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018, 2:00pm at Farmer Funeral Service-Chapel. Burial will follow at Celestial Memorial Gardens in Vanceboro. Visitation will be on Friday, October 12, 2018, 7-9 pm at Farmer Funeral Service in Ayden.
