LaVern “Vern” J. Miller, 91, of Chillicothe, IL formerly of Peoria passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at UnityPoint Health Proctor in Peoria. He was born in Peoria on November 18, 1926 to Hazel (Coates) and Lyle Miller; “Vern” had a long, enjoyable life. He was lucky in love for 67 years to Dorothy (McMahon) Miller. Vern was an Army Air Corps WWII Veteran. He was a member of the Peoria Police Department until 1960 when he joined Painters Local 157; retiring in 1991. He is survived by his son, Jerry (Wendy) Miller of Wyoming; daughters, Judy (Jack) Murnane of Mapleton, Cindy (Randy) Christensen of Rapid City, SD; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren in addition to several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brothers, Ken and Jack and sister, Darlene. Well wishes may be sent to the family in care of Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co., PO Box 301, Pekin, IL 61555-0301. Per his wishes cremation has been accorded and no services will be held.
