OBITUARY Lavada “Nanny” Louise May December 22, 1944 – October 2, 2018 Lavada Louise May, 73, of Waynesboro passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Augusta Health surrounded by her loving family. Born December 22, 1944 in Oklahoma, she was a daughter of the late James Ira and Georgia Olive (Johnson) Lashley. She was a homemaker that enjoyed raising her children and grandchildren. She loved her family and playing Bingo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Dwight May; three sisters and three brothers. Survivors include her children, Wendy Coffey and husband, Allen of Waynesboro, and Ken May and wife, Carla of Randleman, N.C.; grandchildren, Derick Coffey and wife, Danielle of Fishersville, and Ryan Coffey and fiancé, Mary Brewer of Waynesboro; brother, Gerald “Pete” Goodwin. Following cremation, the family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 8, 2018 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Home, 618 W. Main St. A graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Riverview Cemetery following the visitation at the chapel with Rev. Paul Dean Martin officiating.
