Obituary for Lamar VanPelt Roland Lamar “Pap” VanPelt, age 98, of Gaylesville, passed away Saturday September 29th at his residence. Graveside service will be 11 A.M. Wednesday October 3rd at Randle Cemetery, with Rev. John Dow VanPelt officiating. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. Mr. VanPelt was a native of Cherokee County; the son of the late Albert C. and Effie Miller VanPelt, and was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of WWII and was retired from Whelden Valve and Gauge in Jacksonville, FL. In lieu of flowers and food, memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
