KAREN ALICE MAYES Karen Mayes, 65, of Merriwood Parkway, died at 7:26 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2018 at Covington’s Convalescent Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with Rev. Nick Sandefur officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. A… Read More » native of Christian County she was born on October 19, 1952, the daughter of the late William A. Mayes and is survived by her mother, Juanita A. Mayes. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Steven Mayes on July 30, 2018. Karen was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. She participated in Camp MARC for the mentally and physically handicapped and attended the camp for 52 straight years. Survivors include her mother: Juanita A. Mayes of Hopkinsville, KY, her Sister-n-law, Becky Mayes of Hopkinsville, KY, her Nephew, Chris Mayes of Lancaster, KY, her Niece Angie Leek of Hopkinsville, KY and her Aunt, Wilda Mathis of Hopkinsville, KY. Memorials may take the form of donations to Edgewood Baptist Church, 2300 Cadiz Road, Hopkinsville, KY 42240.
