Obituary for Jose Americo Rodriguez Jose Americo Rodriguez, 88 of Trenton has been accepted into God’s loving embrace on Sunday, October 7, 2018. Born in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico on August 30, 1930, “Joe” as he was affectionately referred to by his family and friends came to the Trenton area 60 years ago. He was a hard working man, a sole proprietor of Joe & Sons Grocery Store in Trenton for over 20 years. He had a passion for carpentry that means numerous trips to Home Depot were he would gather all items needed for his DIY projects. He enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds, and going to the farmers market. He was a wonderful neighbor to his community and very generous to those in need. Joe is predeceased by two children; Luis “Jr.” Americo Rodriguez and Angel “Tony” Antonio Rodriguez, siblings; Roman Delgado, Sr. and Jesus Alverio, grandsons; Alfonso Lawson and Barry Vazquez, Jr. Left to cherish his wonderful memory is his loving wife of over 65 years, Anna Diaz Rodriguez, caring children; Andres Rodriguez, Norberto Rodriguez, Daisy Monroe (Charles), Sonia Seldon (Philander), Orlando Rodriguez, Retired Gunnery Sergeant E7 United States Marine Corps 22 years of service (Jackie), Awilda Vazquez (Rev. Barry Vazquez), and Maritza Wheeler (Robert), siblings; Pablo Alverio Delgado, Luz Delgaldo, Carmen Alverio, Ana Alverio, Angel Luis Alverio, Juan Alverio, Jr., Antonio Alverio, and Jose Alverio, admiring grandchildren; Tiesha Lawson, Kristin Rodriguez, Yessenia Galbreath, Jose L Rodriguez, Eric Williams, Nicole Rodriguez, Norberto Rodriguez Jr., Philander Seldon, Jr., Kalanee Andino, Daniel Rodriguez, Alicia Rodriguez, Jonathan Vazquez, and Emilia Vazquez, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives will miss him deeply. Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 12, 2018, 11:00am at the Chiacchio Southview Funeral Home, 990 South Broad Street, Trenton NJ 08611. Viewing hours will begin at 9:30am.
