LANCASTER – John Louis Fowler, age 70, of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018, at Morningside Assisted Living. He was born on October 18, 1947, in Hazel Green, the son of Jack and Helen (Lehrman) Fowler. He graduated from Platteville High School and furthered his education at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in Fennimore where he earned a degree in welding and as a CNA. John served his country in the United States Army from December of 1968 until December of 1970. During… Read More » his time in the Army, John began to follow Christ. He had a very strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. After serving his country, John worked for Banworth and Udelhoven Furniture in both Platteville and Davenport from October of 1979 until April of 1984. He then was employed with the Lancaster Care Center until November of 1995. John assisted his father in managing apartments in Lancaster and took over the operation in 1995 until 2012. He also assisted Mark Klaas in his carpenter business for over twenty years. Survivors include his sister, Pam Kohl; a nephew, Michael John Kohl; dear friend, Mark (Therese) Klaas; other relatives and many friends. John was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory, 1234 S Madison, Lancaster, with Pastor Dave Barna officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Hillside Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
