Mr. Jerry Sturdivant, a resident of Pinckard, died Saturday, September 29, 2018. He was sixty-nine years old. A memorial service for Mr. Sturdivant will be held at a later date. Mr. Sturdivant was born September 18, 1949 in Memphis, Tennessee. He served in the United States Army for twenty-four years until his retirement. His service included Vietnam, office of the Adjutant General in Korea and at Fort Rucker as an Army Casualty Officer, Platform Instructor, and in the I. D. Card Office. Mr. Sturdivant was a member of Bay Springs Baptist Church, was a very organized person and loved to travel. He played basketball in high school and in the Army. Mr. Sturdivant was preceded in death by his father, Joseph E. Sturdivant and his sister, Jenny Hubbard. Survivors include his wife, Lisa Walding Sturdivant of Pinckard; two daughters, Jessica Lentz of Loretto, Tennessee, Jill (Joe) Schneider of Dothan; one son, Jeremy (Savannah) Sturdivant of Ozark; his Mother, Martha Wright Sturdivant of Oakland, Tennessee. Four grandchildren and two great-granddaughters also survive.
