Jeanne Francine Plante Boucher 2018

Jeanne Francine (Plante) Boucher, age 73, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at her home in Huntsville, Texas. She was born September 14, 1945 in Houston, Texas to mother Opal Ray (Harris) Plante and father Bill Norman Plante. She was a devoted christian, baptized in 1957, and was an active member of the Church of Christ her entire life. Jeanne graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in 1964 and attended beauty school, Houston Community College and University… Read More » of Houston. On April 2, 1965 she married Charles Leon Boucher from St. Agapit, Quebec, Canada and they were married 53 years. She is survived by her husband Charles, daughter Denise Boucher Ballard, son Jean Marc Boucher (wife Joni) and three grandchildren Luc, Emily and Marc Allen. She is also survived by two very special surrogate exchange daughters Yukari and Yaoko from Japan. Jeanne was the consummate homemaker from baking and decorating wedding, shower and birthday cakes to painting, cooking, gardening, sewing and (her favorite) quilting. She truly loved and lived to share her God given talents with others by volunteering and teaching countless friends and family how to cook, garden, sew and quilt. She also worked for Westbury Christian School, Continental Airlines and owned a Curves fitness center for several years in Madisonville, Texas. Jeanne volunteered tirelessly and passionately for several organizations including Habitat for Humanity, M.D. Anderson Cancer Hospitality Network (after fighting breast cancer herself in 1987), Walker County Master Gardeners (after becoming a Master Gardener herself) and the Church of Christ. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was a very proud Mimi. Jeanne’s most favorite place in the whole world was her mother and father-in-law’s maple farm (the Sugar Shack) in St. Agapit, Quebec, Canada where she spent hours upon end with her Canadian family, who she adored so dearly, watching her children play, cooking outside on a wood-burning stove with her mother-in-law and making maple syrup with her father-in-law and relatives. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents Opal and Bill, and brother Billy Norman Plante. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Huntsville Church of Christ, Highway 30 in Huntsville, Texas. Private family burial is being arranged by Madisonville Funeral Home.
