James Edward Mullis 2018

James “Jim” Edward. Mullis A Real Cowboy Clyde-Jim Mullis, age 74, passed away at his home surrounded by family on Wednesday evening, October 10, 2018. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Tammy Cowgill; his parents, James Mullis and Elizabeth Sheard and one nephew, Bill Broersma. Jim is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sharon Curtis Mullis; one daughter, Tina Suttles Kahler of Sylva; one son, William Suttles Jr. of Canton; a son-in-law Joe Cowgill of Clyde; his sister, Peggy Broersma of New Mexico; nine grandchildren, Daniel, Marybeth, Sarah, Maegan, Teila, Sam, Serena, Joey and Dalton, along with sixteen great-grandchildren. Jim was a proud veteran of the United States Army who served overseas during Vietnam. He worked as a pipe fitter in Colorado and here in the mountains for over 50 years and retired from McNutt Service Group. Jim was a great character and a real cowboy, anyone who knew him knew his sense of humor. He was affectionately known as Mr. Fix It, a cook- who was amazing, a spectacular photographer and a collector of guns and knives. A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, October 14, 2018 with his granddaughter Sam Rice speaking. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm prior to the service and military honors concluding. A special Thank you to the Veterans Administration and Care Partners Hospice Staff for the care, love and support shown to the family in their time of need.
