Obituary for James H. Vance Jr. James H. Vance, Jr., 76, of Inwood passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018. Born December 28, 1941 in Brucetown, VA he was the son of the late James H. Vance, Sr. and Catherine Painter Vance. He was a member of Cedar Grove Christian Church. He was the owner of Vance’s Trucking and Garage for thirty years. His life-long passions included circle track racing, drag racing, and truck pulling. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he will be greatly missed by his family. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rose Marie “Rody” Morrison Vance; two sons, James “Jamie” Vance and wife Rebecca, and Brent Vance; two grandchildren Zachary Vance and Amanda Vance Giangola; one great-grandchild Annalise Rose Giangola; one sister Barbara Davey of Stephens City, VA; and a number of nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter Pamela Cason; two brothers William “Bill” Vance and Dora Carter. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 12:00 noon with Pastor Zach Lister officiating at Cedar Grove Christian Church, 2320 Sulphur Springs Road, Inwood, WV 25428. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Saturday at the church. His wishes are to be interned with his loving wife of 56 years in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
