Obituary for Mr. James Andrew McSorley Jr. James Andrew McSorley Jr, 83, of Fletcher, died Tuesday, October 23, 2018. A native of Philadelphia, PA he was the son of the late James Andrew and Virginia Cayer Dougherty, and step-father Joseph Dougherty. Mr. McSorley was a 20 year retired veteran with the US Navy where he had been a sonar specialist. He also retired from the US Post Office with 20 years of service. He was an avid golfer, loving Husband, Father, Grand Father and Brother. Mr. McSorley is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Katherine Ross McSorley; two sons, James Andrew McSorley III of Gastonia, NC, and Robert McSorley of Fletcher; two daughters, Karen Brendle and her husband Soloman of Belmont, NC and Christie Pfeffer and her husband David of Fletcher; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, five brothers, and two sisters. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731
