Horace F. “Dutch” Reichard, 95, of The Ridgewood at St. Paul’s in Greenville, formerly of Crestview Dr. in Transfer, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday morning, October 25, 2018 in his residence. He was born in Delaware Twp., on October 21, 1923 to the late Frank and Marian (McDowell) Reichard. He was a school… Read More » bus contractor and a much loved driver for Reynolds School District. He drove kids to school and sporting events for 53 years. He was also a life long dairy and beef cattle farmer, and belonged to the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau. Dutch was a member of the Community of Christ Church, where he has served as an elder, pastor, and youth minister. He was passionate about telling others about Jesus Christ, and supporting Outreach International’s mission of abolishing world hunger. He was a Delaware Township Supervisor and was well known for his home grown vegetables and playing the drums. He was a big fan of Reynolds sports, especially basketball. His family was very important to him, and he will be greatly missed as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. Dutch is survived by his beloved wife, Alyce A. (Miller) Reichard. They were married on May 9, 1947 and enjoyed 71 years together. Also surviving are: his son, Dr. Tim Reichard and his wife, Sue, of Toledo, OH; two daughters, Debra Reichard of Toledo, OH, and Brenda Connely and her husband, Allen, of Canandaigua, NY; a sister, Rebecca Adair and her husband, Bill, of Independence, MO; and three grandchildren, Byrnne Reichard and her husband, Ricky Hunt, Colby Connely and his wife, Stephanie, and Kelsey Connely. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Esther Stoyer, Kathleen Miller, and Lois Clinefelter. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 28th, from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Osborne-Williams Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 73-75 Columbia Ave., Greenville, where a funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm, with Dr. Tim Reichard, son of the deceased, officiating.
