OBITUARY Herman J Chonzena December 28, 1924 – September 26, 2018 Joseph Walter Chonzena of Snohomish WA left this world to join the love of his life on September 26th. Joe went peacefully at 9:45 in the evening. Joe was born on November 28th, 1924 to Alex and Rosie Chonzena of Snohomish. Joe lived his life in Snohomish and was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Snohomish. He served in the Navy during WWII in the Philippines. Prior to deployment he married the love of his life Georgia (Gay) Chonzena. Joe and Georgia spent 74 years in a loving marriage. They raised 4 children in their home on the Pilchuck River. Upon retirement they enjoyed snowboarding to Arizona where they found joy many hours of visiting and crafting with friends. Their enjoyments were family, camping with family and friends, fishing and gardening. Joe is proceeded in death by his parents Alex and Rosie Chonzena, his beautiful bride Georgia and his siblings Elsie Scholl and John Chonzena. He leaves behind his four children Gary (Jan) Chonzena of Ronald, WA, Cheryl (Gordon) Cline of Olympia, WA, Dennis (Cindy) Chonzena of Lake Stevens, WA, and Tim Chonzena of Okanogan, WA. Joe also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on October 11th at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Cemetery 2020 Ludwig road Snohomish WA. Reception/celebration of his life to follow at Zion Lutheran parish hall, 330 Union Ave Snohomish, WA.
